The Ghana Rice Inter-Professional Body (GRIB) is a national rice value chain umbrella organization of various rice actors from “farm to fork” that was duly incorporated as a company limited by guarantee in accordance with the Companies Code (1963) Act 179 in October 2004 as a quasi government organization. GRIB has varied membership which includes private stakeholders in the rice sector (Rice farmers, Rice millers, Women Rice Processor groups, Rice Brokers/Marketers, Input dealers, Machinery Service Providers, financial Institutions, Packaging companies etc.).

As part of the bye laws governing the organization, the general assembly is mandated to meet once annually to review previous years activities of the organization and elect new executives at the national level when their tenure of office expires and plan for subsequent years activities.

The General Assembly  meeting for 2017 which was to be part of the activities for the 4th Ghana National Rice Festival in November 2017 was delayed due to the development of a draft constitution to replace the bye-laws used since 2014 when the organization was established.

The General Assembly was held at Continental Plaza Hotel, Dzorwulu on the 30th April 2018.  About 65 individual across the country turned up for the General Assembly. After the pleasantries,  the draft  GRIB constitution was presented for review, deliberations ensued, additions and subtractions were effected to make it sacrosanct for implementation. Also the tenure of the executive council had expired and hence the need to elect members of the executive council. The election was effected and this is the pictographic representation  of the newly elected GRIB executive council.
